Glossary

First-year enrolments

Number of students enrolled for the first time in a bachelor’s degree programme for each cohort from 2010/2011 to 2022/2023. Online courses, master’s degrees and single-cycle degree programmes are not included.

Numero di studenti iscritti per la prima volta a un corso di laurea triennale per ciascuna coorte dal 2010/2011 al 2022/2023. Non sono inclusi i corsi online, i master o i corsi di laurea a ciclo unico.

First-year dropout rate

This indicator measures the number of students enrolled at university for the first time who do not enrol in the second year.

L'indicatore misura il numero di studenti iscritti all'università per la prima volta che non si iscrivono al secondo anno.

Gender Parity Index (GPI)

The GPI is the ratio of women to men (per 100) and measures the number of women enrolled in university per 100 men. If above 100, women exceed men; if below 100, women are fewer than men.

Il GPI è il rapporto donne-uomini (per 100). Se superiore a 100, le donne sono più numerose; se inferiore a 100, sono meno numerose degli uomini.

STEM–non-STEM ratio

Ratio between students enrolled in a bachelor's degree in STEM and those enrolled in non-STEM programmes per 100.
